Who can view the data on monitoringpoint?
Only users that the project administrator has give access to will be able to view your project. Access to the project is secured by email address and password.
Will everyone know that I am using Monitoringpoint to monitor a sensitive site?
monitoringpoint.com projects can either be private or public. Public Projects are displayed on every user's project list but only the users who have been given access to the project are able to see the project data. Private projects only appear on the project list of users who have access to the project and therefore the majority of monitoringpoint.com users will never know the project exists.
Is my data secured?
Yes. We employ professional web security staff to regularly check our firewall integrity and monitor the web server for attempted break-ins. Our quality procedures include provision for keeping up to date with the latest invasion techniques. We also make sure that there are no back doors to any of your project data.
How long does it take to set up a project?
If you
register today then you could be uploading readings to your first project within 30 minutes. If you have background mapping or drawings then we will author them for you within one working day.
How do I upload data recorded manually to the website?
The quickest way to upload data if you are not using a data logger is via our simple CSV format. When you register we will give you an Excel spreadsheet that will produce the data in the correct format for you. So all you have to do is cut and paste your results, press one button and then upload your file.
How do I upload data recorded from a datalogger?
Data can be uploaded automatically using scripts we can give you. Data can be uploaded in CSV, AGS, MON (diver dataloggers) or D20 (Squirrel Dataloggers) format. We also have a program called
Log2AGS that works with Campbell scientific's LoggerNet program and will fully automate the conversion and upload procedure for you. Visit our

What is the AGS data format?
The AGS data format is a data format for site investigation specialists. It is a simple ASCII based file format that can be created from a number of commercially available programs. For more information on the format see the AGS website at

How can I produce AGS data?
We can supply you with the
Log2AGS converter program that will take standard CSV files produced from data acquisition software (such as PC208W or loggernet) and convert them to AGS. Once it has converted the file it will even upload it to your account on monitoringpoint.com
Do you support DIGGS data?
We are working very closely with the DIGGS team (and have even seconded a member of our staff to the project for 9 months). Once the format has been finalized we will be supporting the monitoring sections of the format on monitoringpoint.com
Do I need a map or drawing to start a project?
No. The drawing interface on each project is optional and only visible once you have uploaded a drawing. The system will function fully with or without a drawing.
How often can I upload data?
Data can be uploaded as often as you require. The site has been used in the past for uploads as frequently as every 5 minutes.
Will I know if my clients have viewed the data?
Yes. monitoringpoint.com tracks your clients as they log into your projects. This log is only accessible to the project adminstrators.
