MonitoringPoint 2.0

Following a successful beta testing program the new version of monitoringpoint.com has now been fully released. All the existing projects on monitoringpoint.com have been moved over to the new version including all associated data, monitoring points and drawings. If you have any questions or querires regarding any of the new features, your project data or mapping, then please dont hesitate to contact the monitoringpoint.com support team.

New Features

Seamless Mapping - All projects on monitoringpoint.com now support fully interactive seamless mapping. Each project has multi-map capability which allows monitroing points to be located on different maps within the same project, such as on Site Plans, Cross Sections or Photographs. monitoringpoint.com now supports many more formats for source mapping data. Vector formats include DWG (AutoCAD Drawings), SHP, SDF and numerous RASTER formats including JPEG images.

Tabbed Interface - The monitoringpoint.com interface has been completly re-designed and re-built from the ground up. Many improvements have been made to the usability and overall performace of the system. The new 'tabbed' interface has been introduced to group related functionallity together in a single tab. This new navigation provides a more user-friendly and productive experience.

Alarms and Triggers - The latest version of monitoringpoint.com allows project administrators to set up high/low value triggers and missing data triggers to ensure that they know as soon as their project is not running smoothly. Running an automated monitoring system is very efficient, however the requirement to check the data is still an important part of daily routine. Monitoringpoint.com has been working towards making this daily task shorter and easier. With the introduction of triggers and alarms it has significantly reduced the time required to check the health of the data each day. Each alarm is sent to all project administrators via email as soon as the data is loaded to the system.

Quick Graphs - Quick Graphs allow users to rapidly generate a set of graphs for a user-defined selection of monitoring points. This feature is extremely useful for checking data, perhaps following a critical system alarm or just to visualise the latest readings for a series of sensors. By setting up a default Quick Graph time span for example 'graph data for the past hour, day or week...' users are able to generate a series of graphs showing readings from each sensor with as little as a 'two clicks'. There is no need to set up graph templates and define date ranges for each monitoring point or set of monitoring points in order to get a quick visualisation of the recent project data.

Improved Browser Support - In order to further increase the accessibility of monitoringpoint.com the new version is now supported by Internet Explorer 6.5+ (including IE7) and Firefox 2+.

Training Movies & User Manuals - We are currently in the process of uploading a set of training movies that demonstrate how to perform common monitoringpoint.com tasks. New movies will be added to the system periodically and the latest movies can be downloded from the demo movies page. The monitoringpoint.com user manual is also being fully revised to include new infomation, step-by-step instructions and screenshots of all the monitoringpoint.com features, download the user guide. These resources should help to ensure that users can fully utilise the system and are able to get the most out of monitoringpoint.com
